What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is also known as skin resurfacing. Resurfacing is a technique for removing the topmost layer of skin leaving it supple and vibrant. The DiamondTome™ wand removes this layer of skin by gently exfoliating the skin with natural micro diamond chips, while at the same time vacuuming the dead skin cells and debris away in a sterile and controlled manner. Removing this outer layer of dead dull cells leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells.

Resurfacing using the DiamondTome™ wand is similar to particle microdermabrasion and chemical peels in its results, but without the adverse effects of loose particles, irritiation, and skin reaction. Unlike other exfoliation treatments, the DiamondTome™ skin resurfacing system uses no loose abrasives to pelt you or contaminate the environment.
How much discomfort will I experience?
Treatments using the DiamondTome™ system are painless yet effective. The degree of effectiveness is controlled by a widely adjustable vacuum in conjuction with the varying coarseness of the DiamondTome™ wands. Our technicians are experts on evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment while at the same time ensuring your comfort.
How will I look after the treatment?
Your skin may look slightly flushed immediately after the treatment but should return to normal in 10-30 minutes. Your skin will look and feel smoother even after the first treatment and will continue to improve with additional treatments.
What should I expect during my treatment?
You should expect a fairly relaxing medical facial. We start off by using the Clarisonic Pro to gently cleanse your skin and prepare it for treatment. This feels like a nice gentle massage and is very pleasant. We will then begin using the DiamondTome™ microdermabrasion wand to resurface your skin. Many patients compare the feeling to being licked by a cat, funny but true! It should not be painful and your technician will ensure that you are comfortable throughout the treatment. After the treatment is complete we will further treat the skin with a soothing hydrating Skin Medica facial masque and finish off with a Skin Medica sun block. The icing on the cake so to speak is Clarisonic Opal immediate eye treatment. We think of this as the perfect prescription for pampering your skin!
