Non-invasive Neck Rejuvenation
The neck is an aesthetically important area of the face, and may be as important as the face in revealing one's age. The neck is subject to many degenerative changes such as loss of collagen and elastin, accumulation of fat, and from external factors such as ultraviolet radiation. The neck can be particularly prone to premature aging because of increased sun exposure.
What is non-invasive neck rejuvenation?
Traditionally, neck rejuvenation has been performed surgically to help to tighten lax skin, reduce wrinkles, and to reduce fatty tissues. At the G Spa non-invasive neck rejuvenation is an alternative to surgery. Non-surgical procedures can also address the skin texture, tone and pigmentation of the neck, whereas surgical procedures are unable to address this issue.
Of course, the methods used at the G Spa generally involve little, if any down time!
What methods can be used to rejuvenate the neck non-invasively?
Various methods can be used to rejuvenate the skin and underlying tissues in the neck. The first step is to prevent further damage by daily use of sunscreen and moisturizer, if indicated. During your initial skin consultation at the G Spa we will be happy to make product recommendations for you.
Sun damage
Sun damage can induce pigmentation changes in the form of brown spots, red spots, or rough, dry skin. Treatment options can include medical grade products containing retinoic acid to help exfoliate dead skin or products containing hydroquinone to help fade hyperpigmentation.
Often a chemical peel will go a long way to improve texture and reduce solar damage. A most luxurious treatment, of course is to use the elos Skin Rejuvenation laser, which can have a dramatic effect on the appearance of neck coloration.
Neck fat
Excess neck fat has traditionally been treated with liposuction, an effective means of removing the fat from under the chin and around the neck. Liposuction is however, invasive, with a risk of bruising and infection.
At the G Spa we utilize the smaller applicator of our Velashape machine, which fits nicely under the chin to decrease the size of the area. Go to Cellulite treatment.
Loose Skin or “Crepey” Neck
Skin laxity of the neck is often treated with plastic surgery, but many patients find that the results of non-invasive treatments are Satisfactory and more natural in appearance. At the G Spa we use elos Skin Tightening (Refirme), which uses radio-frequency to help heat the skin and stimulate collagen.
Skin tags
Skin tags, or acrochordons, are generally benign growths of skin that commonly occur on the neck, armpits, and groin. They are usually from 1 to 5 mm in size, and appear as a small outgrowth of skin, connected by a small narrow stalk.
It is amazing how removal of such little growths can have such an enormous effect on one’s self esteem. A little numbing cream, a surgeon’s tiny scissors, a deft hand and 10 minutes is all it takes!
