Dear Dr. Griffin,
I hadn't made time to find a new OB Gyn since I moved
last August, and today proved to me just how special
and wonderful you are.
I feel I have been lucky to know you, and I feel your
level of professionalism is well-matched with
humanity, humor, and I really appreciate the choices
you make. As a doctor, you are still funny, and
female, and kind, and quirky.
I saw a new OB today, and she was clinical,
professional, matter of fact, and cut and dried. There
was nothing offensive or invasive in her manner, yet I
walked away feeling violated cold and alone.
I love that you provide cloth gowns. I love the funny
pillows in the waiting area about mena“paws.” I love
that you are willing to crack a joke to lighten the
mood. I will admit that at first it surprised me, but
I grew to enjoy rather than dread the doctor's office. You have managed to create a welcoming, cozy, safe,
professional environment. A place that I don't feel
(as) awkward about stripping down and being examined. Your posters of hot guys on the ceiling! I am afraid
you have set the bar quite high for all my future
experiences. And I didn't even know I missed all that
until today when none of it was there. Total Joni

Anyway, I work in customer service myself, and you do
what you can and hope you are making a difference.
Once in a while people express just how much of a
difference it is, and after today I just had to call
and let you know just how exceptional and special and
wonderful I think you and your clinic are. I told the receptionist
who answered the phone just to tell you
how much of a difference you've made. My experience
today was probably typical, but for me it was by
contrast a desert to your oasis.

I haven't decided what to do yet, but until I find a
person or place that I am comfortable I hope it is
alright if I consider your office my first alternate,
even if I have to drive to Santa Barbara once a year
for an annual exam. For now, you have certainly made
it worth the drive...and Thousand Oaks really isn't
soooo far. In any case, I will be checking into local
doctors to see if any of them will do. Who knew you
would need to comparison shop OB's??
